Graduated from Kiev National University in 1970. Defended his Candidate of Science (PhD) thesis for in 1977, for Doctor of Science in 1997 on speciality 051107 "Optical devices and systems". Assistant professor since 1980, professor - since 1995.

Scientific activity: infrared technique, thermovision, space based systems. He has written 3 textbooks, 2 school-books, 3 monographs (published in Ukraine, Germany, China), and more than 140 scientific and methodical publications.40 patents also belong to his achievements.
